Jingle Bells (December) – This program was started in 1949. Held at the Lake Geneva Christian Center, it is a live telethon that raises money for food and toys to be given out to families in need.

Pitch, Hit & Run (May) – Competition for boys and girls ages 7 to 14. Kids compete in three baseball-related skills for prizes and the chance to move on to as many as three more level, ending with the national competition held during Major League Baseball’s All-Star week.

When: Sunday, May 15th, 2011. Registration is from 1:00 to 1:30. Competition starts at 1:30.

Knute Nelson Memorial Baseball Field (5th Avenue and Elm Street in Alexandria, MN)

Who:
Boys and Girls ages 7 to 14 (Age as of July 17, 2011)

Description: Participants will compete in three categories. 1) PITCH – six baseballs for boys and softballs for girls at a target. 2) HIT – three hits off a batting tee for each division. 3) RUN – Timed run from second base to home (60 foot bases/160 total feet timed for boys, 120 feet total timed for girls.
Age Groups:
The four age groups are: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 with boys and girls competing separately.


Pitch, Hit & Run consists of four (4) levels of competition: Locals, Sectionals, Team Championships and National Finals. From our Local Competition:

- Prizes will be awarded for first place in each age category and overall champion courtesy of the Alexandria Jaycees.

- 1st place finishers are eligible for Sectional Competition.

Major League Baseball wants every child to be given an equal opportunity to compete. Therefore, there is no registration fee or purchase required for any participant to enter.


- Please Bring a copy of your birth certificate for age verification.

- Each participant must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or other adult.

Sandbox Fill (May) – We take orders from area residents for sandbox sand and deliver it to them for a charge.

 Sand will be delivered between 5:00 and 9:00 p.m.

 $10 first wheelbarrow & $9 each additional

$1 discount per wheelbarrow for licensed daycare providers!

Scholarships (May) – The Jaycees sponsor scholarships to both the Junior High and Senior High levels of students.

Punt, Pass and Kick (October) – A program where area children can complete up to national level in the skills of throwing and kicking a football. This program will be held October 2nd at Citizens Field in Alexandria.  Contact: sthelen@telecom-tech.com for more details!

Adopt-A-Highway (May and September) – The Jaycees participates in this program to clean trash twice a year aong the three miles of County Road 61.
